General Surgery at Emerson
Emerson Health provides comprehensive general surgery for adults with conditions affecting the abdomen, gastrointestinal tract, breasts, colon and rectum, skin, and soft tissues. Our board-certified surgeons have expertise in hernia repair, gallbladder surgery, breast surgery, colorectal surgery, cancer surgery, and other general surgical procedures. They work closely with patients, primary care providers, gastroenterologists, oncologists, radiologists, pathologists, and other specialists to coordinate care from diagnosis through recovery.
When surgery is recommended, your surgeon will explain your options and develop a treatment plan based on your condition, health, lifestyle, and recovery goals. They specialize in minimally invasive laparoscopic surgery, which requires smaller incisions than traditional methods. This approach results in less pain, shorter hospital stays, and faster recovery. In fact, 75% of surgeries at Emerson are outpatient, allowing patients to go home the same day.
