About Me

Dr. Oscar Chen is a board-certified ophthalmologist specializing in cornea, cataract, and refractive surgery, as well as complex anterior segment disease. His clinical interests include cataract surgery with premium intraocular lenses, laser vision correction, corneal transplantation, complex intraocular lens repair, and keratoconus management.

Dr. Chen spent his childhood between Los Angeles and Taiwan. He earned his Bachelor of Science in Human Biology from the University of Southern California, followed by a Master of Science in Global Medicine from the Keck School of Medicine of USC. He then moved to Chicago to attend Rush Medical College, where he received his Doctor of Medicine. He completed his ophthalmology residency at Rush University Medical Center, serving as Chief Resident, and later completed a fellowship in Cornea, Refractive, and Complex Anterior Segment at the University of California, Irvine.

Dr. Chen is a member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology and the American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgeons. He has published numerous articles and textbook chapters and has presented at national conferences, including the Cornea and Eye Banking Forum and the American-European Congress of Ophthalmic Surgery. Outside of medicine, he enjoys golf, watch collecting, and spending time with his wife and son.
