About Me

Dr. Elton Zhou is a comprehensive ophthalmologist dedicated to treating patients in the Greater Boston area. He specializes in refractive cataract surgery, minimally invasive glaucoma surgery, and the medical and procedural management of a variety of eye diseases. Dr. Zhou is committed to providing personalized, evidence-based care, ensuring that his patients thoroughly understand their options and feel empowered in their treatment journey. He has a particular interest in advanced technology intraocular lenses that help patients reduce their dependence on glasses after cataract surgery. He graduated from Yale College with a bachelor’s degree in molecular biophysics and biochemistry before earning his medical degree from the Yale School of Medicine. Upon graduation, he was awarded the Parker Prize, given to the person who has “shown the best qualifications for a successful physician.” Dr. Zhou then completed his ophthalmology residency at Yale, where he treated patients at both Yale New Haven Hospital and the West Haven Veterans Affairs medical center, while also earning a clinical educator distinction. He is deeply committed to helping patients preserve and improve their vision through compassionate care and clear communication. Dr. Zhou is an active member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology.

Outside of medicine, Dr. Zhou enjoys going to events at Fenway park, traveling, exploring new restaurants, and spending time with his wife and their dog.
