Friends of Emerson Health

From handcrafting teddy bears that comfort our youngest patients and hanging art to create a warm and caring environment to funding state-of-the-art facilities and advanced medical equipment, the Friends strive to improve the patient experience in all areas.

The Friends hold special events for members and their guests to promote Emerson Health’s wide range of high-quality healthcare services. These events include presentations at coffees, luncheons, and evening gatherings.

The Friends offer programs to our community that feature Emerson Health’s well-respected medical professionals who share their expertise on current health and wellness topics. 

Through the Friends’ fundraising efforts, we have enabled the hospital to purchase technology for real-time communication among departments, cardiac rehabilitation equipment and programs, state-of-the-art 3D mammography, nursing education, and more.

Notably, Friends contributions have supported:

• The renovation of Emerson’s level II special care nursery created a more efficient and appropriate environment for infants at risk of serious complications related to immaturity or illness.
• The expansion of the Naka Infusion Center, which provides advanced care for patients undergoing infusion chemotherapy, patients with blood disorders, individuals requiring intravenous antibiotics, or those taking pain management medication.
• There is a convenient MedSafe drop-off location in the Medical Office Building, where the community can safely dispose of unwanted prescriptions.
• Colorful superhero johnnies for children to wear during their hospital stay, hopefully making their visit a little more comfortable.
• Staff education and retention programs
• Anchor bags to support our adolescent behavioral health patients in crisis
