Spine Surgery
Spine surgery is a specialized field of medicine focused on diagnosing and treating conditions affecting the vertebral column, spinal cord, and surrounding nerves. Our team provides comprehensive care for complex spine issues that require surgery.
Our Services
Surgery is rarely the first-line treatment for spinal issues. Only when appropriate non-surgical treatments have been exhausted is spinal surgery considered.
- Our spine and back pain management program provides complete diagnostic and management options, including conservative measures such as physical therapy.
- Pain specialists from the Emerson Spine Center, in collaboration with Lahey Clinic spine surgeon, perform interventional pain procedures in Emerson’s Clough Surgical Center.
- When spinal surgery is required, Emerson’s Spine Center works closely with spine surgeon Dr Robert Whitmore at the respected Lahey Clinic. Patients who require surgery for brain or peripheral nerve disorders also are referred to Lahey.

- Ruptured discs
