Our board-certified bariatric surgeons are among the most experienced surgical weight loss experts in the country. With decades of experience, more than 10,000 procedures completed, and among the highest safety ratings, they are known for their skill, compassion, and personalized approach to help patients overcome their disease.
David Lautz, MD, FACS, FASMBS
As the Director of the Center for Weight Loss, Dr. Lautz is responsible for ensuring the health, safety, and successful outcomes of bariatric patients. Dr. Lautz has performed over 6,000 bariatric procedures, more than most other bariatric surgeons. He is highly-respected as a weight loss surgery revisions expert which is why many of his patients are throughout New England and beyond. Dr. Lautz attended medical school at the University of Chicago Pritzker School of Medicine and trained at Brigham and Women’s Hospital. Other weight loss programs refer patients to Dr. Lautz based on his expertise.
Our Team Approach
In addition to the surgeons, our Center for Weight Loss has an entire team dedicated to your success.
Our team includes:
- nurses and medical assistants who assess your health
- nutritionists who work closely with you to support your nutrition and diet
- behavioral health professionals and a social worker who connects you with community resources to aid your successful journey and support you with mental health aspects of preparing for surgery and life after surgery
- a financial counselor who works with your health insurance to help you afford care
You will see your surgeon at each visit and collaborate with other members of the team to learn about your surgery and post-surgery experience, and more.
Our entire team works in the same office all under one roof, making it convenient and efficient for patients, and contributing to the warm, supportive environment.
