An MRI (Magnetic Resonance Imaging) is a safe, painless, and radiation-free test that uses magnetic fields and radio waves to create detailed images of the body’s organs and tissues. • Check the brain, spine, and nervous system for conditions like tumors, stroke, or injuries.
• Examine the heart and blood vessels for blockages or damage.
• Look at bones and joints for infections, fractures, or tumors.
• Detect tumors in internal organs or assess abnormalities in the breasts, especially for women with dense tissue.

• The Procedure: You will lie on a table that slides into the MRI scanner, which is a large tube. You must stay still to get clear images.
• Noise: The MRI makes repetitive noises. You’ll be provided with earplugs or music to block the sound. At our Concord location, you can also watch TV or movies with Cinemavision.
• Duration: MRIs usually take between 15 minutes to an hour, depending on the area being scanned.
• Comfort: If you feel claustrophobic or anxious, talk to your doctor about mild sedatives.

Because of the strong magnetic field, certain conditions or implants may prevent you from having an MRI. Please inform our staff if you have:

• Pacemakers, metal implants, or other devices
• Claustrophobia, pregnancy, or kidney problems

Our team will ensure that your MRI is safe and adjusted as needed.

For some MRIs, a contrast material called gadolinium may be used to improve image quality. Your doctor will decide if this is necessary. If needed, you will be given detailed information about the contrast and its safety.

After your MRI, a radiologist will review the images and send a report to your doctor. To request a copy of your MRI results or images, contact:
