When Should You Consider Hospice Care?
It is essential to consider hospice care when a person is facing a life-limiting illness and the focus shifts from treatment to comfort. Signs that hospice care might be appropriate include:
- A doctor has determined that the illness is no longer curable.
- The patient is no longer seeking aggressive treatments.
- If the illness continues, the patient’s life expectancy is 6 months or less.
Paying for Hospice Care
Hospice care is covered by Medicare, Medicaid, and most private insurance plans. Our team can help you understand your options and work with your insurance provider to ensure you receive the necessary care.
Starting Hospice Care
If you think hospice care might be right for you or a loved one, the first step is to talk to your doctor. They can provide a referral to our hospice care team, who will meet with you to discuss your options and answer any questions.
