About Me
In 2017, Dr. Kafina received a 35-year career achievement award in immunology and rheumatology from his alma mater SUNY Downstate. He collaborated in characterizing topoisomerase and RNA polymerase autoantibodies in scleroderma at Mt. Sinai. He did a predoctoral fellowship in biochemistry at the University of Wisconsin. Dr. Kafina has been on faculty at Harvard Medical School since 1997, where he enjoys teaching, and has been on staff at the Boston Baptist arthritis unit for nearly 30 years.
