Emerson Health Earns 5-Star Hospital Quality Rating from CMS

Emerson Hospital is among the top performing hospitals nationwide

Highest Possible Rating Reflects Emerson Health’s Commitment to Exceptional Patient Care and Quality Outcomes

Emerson Health has received a 5-Star Hospital Quality Rating from the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS), the highest possible rating awarded by the federal agency.

The CMS Overall Hospital Quality Star Rating helps patients identify hospitals that deliver high-quality care. Ratings are based on a variety of quality measures, including patient outcomes, safety, experience, and effectiveness of care.

“This recognition reflects the extraordinary dedication of our entire team and our commitment to delivering exceptional care close to home,” said Christine Schuster, RN, MBA, President and CEO of Emerson Health. “Every day, our physicians, nurses, advanced practice providers, technicians, support staff, volunteers, and leaders work together to provide safe, compassionate, high-quality care for our patients and community.”

CMS star ratings are designed to help patients and families compare hospitals based on quality performance. Hospitals receiving a 5-star rating are recognized among the highest-performing hospitals in the nation.

The recognition adds to Emerson Health’s growing list of quality and patient care distinctions and reflects the organization’s continued focus on patient safety, clinical excellence, patient experience, and access to personalized care.

“At Emerson Health, healthcare is personal,” said Schuster. “We are proud to provide nationally recognized care while maintaining the personal connection and community focus that define who we are.”
