Undergraduate Internship Opportunities

Opportunity for hands-on clinical training within a medical practice.

• Rooming patients, which includes performing vitals and medication list review
• Working as a team with a physician and/or advanced practice provider
• In-office procedure assistance
• Extensive daily interactions with providers
• Obtaining medication/testing prior authorization
• Triaging clinical questions to providers as appropriate
• Medical record uploading within the electronic medical record (EMR)
• Answering patient phone calls
• COVID-19 screening via phone

Engage in front-end patient experience and revenue cycle processes, and gain further knowledge on clinic flow.

• Serving as a customer service ambassador for the practice
• Scheduling patient appointments
• Verifying insurance eligibility and referral status
• Patient intake, which includes demographic verification and copay collection
• Billing collection log completion and submission
• Scheduling further procedures, i.e., injections, endoscopies, and surgeries (dependent on specialty)
• Answering patient phone calls
• COVID-19 screening via phone

Hybrid position that provides both clinical and administrative experience. Ideal for learning about healthcare operations while gaining hands-on clinical experience.

• All of the above functions at varying degrees, dependent upon practice and day-to-day schedule
