Active Family, Lifesaving Care, and a Commitment to Our Community: Meet the Drew’s

Rachel and Jon Drew’s story with Emerson Health began eight years ago when they moved from Arlington to Lincoln. With two active children, the Drew’s quickly found Emerson to be their go-to for healthcare. From broken bones and concussions to emergency gallbladder surgery and a painful cracked tooth, they experienced firsthand the broad scope and outstanding care Emerson provides.

“We rushed to Emerson when our son broke his nose shortly after we moved to the area. We knew we were in good hands from the moment we arrived,” Rachel recalls. Emerson has become a cornerstone of the family’s life, offering peace of mind in emergencies, including sports injuries and late-night stomach pain. “We go to Emerson because we know we will receive outstanding care.”

For Jon, Emerson’s proximity and exceptional care are invaluable for his children and extended family. “We relied on Emerson during my parents’ final years. It was a relief knowing they had access to top-notch care so close to home,” he shares.

A Lifesaving Resource for All Ages
The Drew’s describe Emerson as “irreplaceable.” “In the middle of the night, or during rush hour, having an emergency department just 10 minutes away is literally a lifesaver,” the family emphasizes. They recall a particularly dire time when Rachel rushed to Emerson in excruciating pain, which required emergency gallbladder surgery. “Knowing Emerson is there for us in critical moments makes all the difference. Our friends use Emerson. We are fortunate to have the care we need in one place – right near home.”

Investing in the Future of Care
As Emerson expands its Emergency Department to meet the region’s growing needs, the Drew’s are proud to support the Transforming Health campaign through their family foundation. “The world of medicine is changing, and so are the needs of our community. From mental health services to advanced technology and medical equipment, to serving a growing population, Emerson’s evolution is essential to remain the invaluable resource it is,” Jon explains.

The Drew’s gift reflects their belief in Emerson’s mission and their gratitude for the care their family—and countless others—have received. “Emerson is more than a hospital. It is a vital part of our community, and we want to ensure it thrives for generations to come.”
